IGSHPA Accredited Installer
The International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) Accredited Installer training is a comprehensive class that goes into great detail about the design, installation, and due diligence necessary when installing Geothermal systems. The focus of this accreditation is primarily the ground loop or source which is the heart of the Geothermal system. It is crucial that installers have this knowledge and follow the standards set forth by the IGSHPA to ensure a successful and proper installation.
Topics of the class include:
- Design and Material options
- System Layout
- Pipe Joining Techniques
- Hands on Pipe Fusion Demo.
- Trenching/ Drilling Processes
- Air and Debris Purging
- Pressure Drop Calculations
- Pump and Fluid Selection
- Soil Type & Thermal Conductivity
IGSHPA classes are scheduled as necessary, typically in the spring and fall months. Please check back for class updates or contact our office to be placed on our contact list and we will contact you when the next class registration is opened.
Applied Service and Installation
Knowing the product you are installing is the most important aspect in a high quality service and installation company. Who better to teach such a class then the manufacturer of the product and the people who represent it? At Greenway we believe only so much can be taken away from a typical classroom based training and that is why our class features an actual Geothermal unit connected to our Geothermal vertical closed loop system for a truly unique hands on training experience. The Installation and Service class is a 2 day course that gives a through introduction to the product line and the capabilities of each unit series. Some topics of the class include in depth coverage of the Installation, Operation and Maintenance Manual (IOM), understanding the procedures for start-up, installation, and performance reporting and proper methods for the verification of the proper operation of the overall system. The sophisticated control board diagnostics are demonstrated using a simulator to cycle through all fault codes and heat of rejection (HR), heat of extraction (HE), subcooling (SC), and superheat (SH) are explained and demonstrated. After participating in this class it will be clearly seen why refrigerant gauges and seldom used in the diagnostics of our units and just how easy it is to service a Geothermal heat pump. Classes are scheduled as necessary, typically in the spring and fall months. Please check back for class updates or contact our office to be placed on our contact list and we will contact you when the next class registration is opened.
